2018 Honda Odyssey

Introducing the All New 2018 Honda Odyssey

The completely redesigned 2018 Honda Odyssey may just be the ultimate family minivan. With incredible comfort, creative features, and cutting-edge technology, the new Odyssey is sure to be a hit with the entire family.

Comfort and Space for All

There is plenty of room for your family and all of their cargo in the new Odyssey. The Odyssey's spacious cabin has seating for up to seven in LX trim or eight in EX and above trims. Seating is comfortable, even for the long haul, thanks to the Odyssey's plush seats.  There is no lack of leg or headroom in any of the three rows of seating, even for adults. Spill-resistant upholstery is standard, or for additional luxury, leather interior is available on EX-L and above trims. Heated and ventilated front seats are also available to keep you cozy, no matter the conditions. Finding just the right driving position is easy with an available 12-way power adjustable driver's seat with 2 position memory.

The available second row Magic Slide seat provides a variety of configurations for seating and hauling cargo. The Magic Slide seats can be slid laterally, forward, and backwards. This allows for better access to rear seats, the ability to bring a small child in child's seats within arm reach of those sitting in the front, or to create a buffer zone between two children in the second row.
In addition, the Odyssey has plenty of room for your belongings. The cargo area behind the rear seat offers 38.6 cu. ft of space. By folding away the third row, you get 92.3 cubic feet of cargo space. If you also remove the second row seats, you are provided with a class-leading 158 cu. ft. of cargo space. That's plenty of room for large bulky items or to lay down 4-by-8 sheets of material for your next weekend project. Loading cargo is a breeze, thanks to the available power tailgate with a programmable height. Touring and Elite models even feature a Hands-Free Tailgate that opens with a motion of your foot under the rear bumper.

Technology for the Modern Family

Honda had family needs in mind when it was designing the Odyssey, and they came up with an incredible amount of clever features and technology to make each trip convenient and enjoyable. Up front is an available 8-inch touch screen infotainment system. Like cell phones and other mobile devices, you can navigate the easy-to-use menu system using touch, pinch, and swipe gestures. Music can be played from your favorite source, including Bluetooth Streaming Audio, Apple Car Play, Android Audio, SiriusXM, and HD Radio. With Multi-Zone Audio (on the Elite trim), you can set zones so one of the areas of the van can be listening to music while another area is quiet. The Odyssey can be turned into a mobile hotspot for wireless streaming and more, with an available data plan from AT&T. Back seat passengers can enjoy streaming videos and music through the available 10.2 inch rear entertainment system.

There are some great features for parents too. Cabin watch allows you to keep an eye on your kids with a built-in camera with night vision that lets you see the back seats, even in the dark, through the infotainment screen in the front. You can even speak to the rear passengers using the available Cabin Talk feature which turns the speakers and headphones into a PA system. Kids in the back can even track how far away from the destination you are with the fun How Much Farther app.

Smooth and Pleasantly Potent

Fun-to-drive is usually not often associated with a minivan, but with strong acceleration and agile handling, Odyssey drivers will be quite pleasantly surprised. The Odyssey's power is derived from a 280 hp, 262 lb-ft torque, 3.5 liter V6 engine which is paired to either a 9-speed automatic transmission (LX, EX, EX-L) or a 10-speed automatic transmission (Touring & Elite). These well-refined powertrain options provides you with smooth shifts and swift acceleration when called upon. The Odyssey also delivers good gas mileage too, with an estimated 19 city/28 highway/22 combine MPG.

The Odyssey's suspension is well-sorted. It absorbs bumps, potholes, and rough pavement, providing a smooth and comfortable ride. Steering is light, accurate, and focused, which makes it feel like a much smaller vehicle and instills confident cornering capabilities.

Built for Life's "What Ifs"

Honda goes above and beyond to protect you and your precious cargo. Not only is the Odyssey designed to achieve top ratings from NHTSA and IIHS, but it is also available with the latest in Honda's safety technology to help prevent you from being in an accident in the first place. Honda Sensing provides a suite of intelligent driver assistance features and safety systems as extra protection for you and your passengers. These features include:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System - Provides help with braking the Odyssey when an otherwise unavoidable collision with another vehicle is detected in front of you.
  • Road Departure Mitigation System - A small camera that senses road markers to alert you if you are about to leave the road, and it can take action to help prevent you from doing so.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow - Helps to maintain a set following distance on the highway so you don't need to manually adjust your speed if the vehicle ahead of you slows.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System - Adjusts the steering to bring you back into the center of your lane if it detects that you are drifting out of your lane without signaling.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring System with Cross Traffic Monitor - Detects the presence of vehicles to the side and behind the Odyssey using radar. Warning indicators alert you if the system detects a vehicle to help you during lane changes.

The new Honda Odyssey is a fantastic vehicle for you and your most precious cargo, with lots of available family-friendly features, a comfortable roomy cabin, and advanced safety features to keep your loved ones safe.
